Electric Actuators

Features and Benefits of Electric Actuators

The rod and rodless versions of our electric actuators offer a wide range of high-performance linear axes with several drive, guide, and profile options. EFP offers an extensive range of electric actuators that encompasses light duty to heavy duty across multiple applications. Complex multi-axis systems are essential in today’s industrial world and are becoming more and more common in new machine construction. Custom-designed to solve your specific application challenges, EFP offers unlimited guide and drive combination possibilities and various configurations, including H, XY, XZ & XYZ. Partnering with the manufacturer, we provide comprehensive application assessment and technical support, from design to delivery.

Types of Electric Actuators

Rodded

Accurate and repeatable, rodded electric actuators offer long life and ease of installation. With optional IP65 protection for both axial- and parallel-mounted motors, there is a rodded solution for almost all application environments. A range of ISO standard rod-style, ball screw electromechanical linear cylinders is available with or without servo motors, in six bore sizes, with two motor mounting options. These units feature 32, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100 mm bore sizes, 100 mm–1500 mm strokes, up to 30.4kN of force, speed up to a maximum of 1.6 m/s, operating temperature range of 0ºC to 80ºC (32°F to 176°F) / ambient temperature motor 0ºC to 40ºC (32°F to 104°F) and a protection Class of IP40 or IP65.

Rodless

Precision single linear axis units offer unique flexibility, due to their modular construction from the highest quality profile, guide, drive, and accessory building blocks. Each linear axis can be individually configured and modified, and in addition to our standard units, we offer stainless steel and reinforced components, suitable for applications in explosion protection (ATEX), food processing, and clean room areas. Linear axis with tooth belt drives can be found in every industry and in a variety of applications. No matter how often and how far you want to move your workpieces, belt-driven linear units are ideal for fast handling and positioning tasks. The linear axis is driven by a steel-reinforced tooth belt, moving lightweight or heavy loads from point A to B within the desired cycle time. Characterized by high speeds, these actuators deliver impressive results, even over long travel distances. Linear axis with spindle drives can generate high feed forces and offer extremely precise positioning accuracy and repeatability, making them a popular standard in processing, dosing, and positioning applications. Our spindle drives are characterized by excellent accuracy, guaranteed even under harsh operating conditions and with long operating times. For positioning the carriage, you can choose between a sliding guide, roller guide, or rail guide.

Why Choose Our Electric Actuators

Complexity

Electric automation, with all its related componentry and programming, can be a complex undertaking. We can help you assess the specific variables involved in your process and determine if electric actuators are the most appropriate actuation solution. With our full line of electric actuators and pneumatic alternatives, we can reduce the complexity and deliver your expected results, whether it’s speed, power, precision and accuracy, or some combination thereof.

Flexibility

One of the primary benefits of electric actuators is the flexibility in their positioning and design. Due to the programming and controls nature of these products, the product specifications can offer some range of flexibility that is application- and user-dependent.

Reliability

In electric actuation, reliability is of the highest importance, particularly in the most challenging of processes or demanding of conditions. With our portfolio of global manufacturing partners, we can best ensure that your reliability needs are met.

Efficiency and Productivity

Typically, an electric actuator investment requires a higher upfront investment than other fluid power solutions. Thus, we understand and are passionate about making sure that you achieve your planned efficiency and productivity targets. We will be your partner in improving processes, productivity, and reducing operating costs.
