Features and Benefits of Sensors & Vision Components

Selecting the proper sensor or vision system allows you to easily detect, identify, and measure a variety of parameters, such as temperature, pressure, humidity, flow rate, motion, and position. When these components are used in an application, the process becomes more automated, efficient, intelligent, and safer.

Types of Sensors & Vision Components

Photo Optic Sensors

We carry over 20 different photo optic sensor types, such as retroreflective, through beam, defuse reflective, U-shape pass-thru, long distance, cylindrical, rectangular beam for PCB, background rejection, harsh environment, compact and slim ultra-thin through beam, noise immune, compact through beam synchronous, built-in amplifier, flat compact, front/side mount, AC-DC relay output with built-in amplifier, narrow beam reflective, color mark matching, plus many more forms and function combinations. For fiber optics we have dual adjustment, high-performance single/dual digital display, and digital display fiber optic amplifiers. Digital fiber optic amplifier communication converters are also available. The Photomicro sensors for groove-depths of 9 mm, 6.5 mm with built-in connector are available in up to eight different shapes. Our Photomicro push button type sensors are capable of accurate detection regardless of material, color, or reflectivity of target objects.

Displacement Sensors

Our displacement sensors can measure thickness, width, level difference, disparity, curve, and evenness of target objects by detecting the amount of displacement using laser beams. Laser displacement sensors can measure thickness, width, level difference, disparity, curve, evenness of target objects by detecting the amount of displacement. The sensors offer accurate and stable measurement with minimal influence from target color or material. We offer a model that has a sensor head and amplifier unit which are detachable for easier maintenance, and up to eight sensor amplifier units can be interconnected with a mutual interference prevention function ability. They come with reference distance of 30/65/100/300/600 mm and a maximum resolution of 1㎛ (varies by model).
There is a communication converter model that allows RS232C/RS485 communication for our laser displacement sensors. The communication converters can be powered by the sensor amplifier unit by connecting the units using the side connector. The displacement and laser displacement sensor software allows users to batch parameter settings, monitor measured values and outputs in real time, and set communication speed and addresses without connecting to host devices. It can be powered directly by amplifier units without additional wiring.

LiDar & Area Sensors

Our LiDAR sensors feature 270° detection angle and up to 25 m detection distance to accurately detect object presence. The scanners offer 16 field sets and teaching functions for flexible installation, and Ethernet/Bluetooth communication allows easy configuration with PC and mobile applications. The ROS (Robot Operation System) driver is also supported for SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) function of AGV/AMR. Area sensors are convenient, general purpose light screens used to detect the passing of objects in specified areas. We offer through-beam mapping sensors, line-beam mapping sensors, cross-beam type area sensors, general purpose area sensors, slim plastic body area sensors, and slim body area sensors.

Proximity Sensors

To determine the proximity, intrusion, distance, or simple presence we offer photoelectric sensors to detect distance and absence or presence of objects using a light transmitter and receiver. Fiber optic sensors combine optic fiber cables and amplifiers to provide accurate detection of objects in various applications. Displacement sensors can measure thickness, width, level difference, disparity, curve, evenness of target objects by detecting the amount of displacement using laser beams. Laser scanners utilize the time-of-flight method to measure the round-trip time of the infrared laser beam, to accurately detect presence of objects within a wide range area. Proximity sensors are common, reliable, and durable solutions for applications requiring noncontact detection.

Rotary Encoders

Rotary encoders are used to electronically monitor the position of a rotating shaft by converting shaft rotation into electronic pulses. Our encoder line covers any application you may have. For position memory applications we have single-turn absolute rotary encoders. Our wire type linear scale absolute encoders feature a maximum measurement range of 512 mm with resolution of 0.1 mm. Our absolute and wire encoders are available in various output codes, including BCD, binary, and gray codes.

Machine Vision Sensors

Smart cameras can be used to analyze and process images captured by the embedded processor. In addition to the function of the vision sensor, various inspections, such as barcode, OCR, and pattern recognition, are possible. Smart cameras utilize images captured by the integrated industrial camera lenses to determine the target object’s code, OCR/OCV, patterns, alignment, presence, size, shape and more. The camera also utilizes the global shutter method to capture accurate images, and the sensors feature 14 essential inspection functions for diverse applications. The smart camera is optimized for heat dissipation to ensure reliable operation and high life expectancy. Vision sensors utilize images captured by camera lenses to determine the target object’s presence, size, shape, orientation, or patterns. The 0.4M color vision sensors utilize images captured by the integrated industrial camera lenses to determine the target object’s presence, color, size, shape, orientation, patterns and more. The integrated design, featuring LED lighting, camera and lens, allows users to set up and manage the units more easily compared to vision systems. The camera also utilizes the global shutter method to capture accurate images, and the sensors feature 13 essential inspection functions for diverse applications. The 0.4M monochrome vision sensors feature 10 essential inspection functions for diverse applications. Both the color and monochrome sensors can have captured images saved directly to FTP servers, so that users can manage and analyze the inspection data separately.
