What IS Electric Automation?

Electric automation improves the efficiency of manufacturing processes and includes a wide array of product components. Electric actuators are used in conjunction with an electric motor to generate the needed force to move an object. Electric actuators can be used in varied applications across the industrial manufacturing spectrum, especially in applications where a more precise movement is required. Photo-electric sensors are available in a variety of sensing models and are used along with proximity/capacitive sensors in detecting part presence and product levels for quality control needs. The use of vision cameras can further verify part quality. Temperature controllers, timers and counters, and programmable logic controllers are used to monitor and control the manufacturing process. With the integration of all or some of these various electric automation components, a more flexible process with greater reliability can be achieved.
