Collaborative Robots

What are Collaborative Robots?

Collaborative robots (cobots) are a form of robotic technology built to work safely alongside human workers in a shared, collaborative workspace. In the workspace, collaborative robots are delegated the repetitive tasks while the human workers are assigned the more complex tasks. In an ideal environment, the tasks performed by the collaborative robot should complement the tasks performed by the human worker as both contribute their highest and best value.

Collaborative robots are very different than standard industrial robots. Collaborative robots are much smaller, have smaller payload capacities and force limitations, and are designed with the proper safety in mind for the human coworker. Most collaborative robots are equipped with sensors to avoid collisions with human workers, have rounded edgers, and no pinch points.

Our Collaborative Robots and Accessories

Cobots

Collaborative robots are appropriate for a large number of repetitive applications across multiple industries, and they can quickly adapt to the needs of changing application scenarios by means of easy-to-use open-source, fully customizable software. Our collaborative robots are ISO 150 compliant, so they integrate with all standard end-of-arm tooling. With 6-degrees of freedom, each cobot is designed to retain flexibility regardless of the variables of the application environment. Every joint in the cobot is designed to be fully modular, so in the rare case that a cobot needs servicing, any joint can be swapped out quickly and easily. Our i-Series collaborative robots are available in the following payload (kg) capacities:

  • i3
  • i5
  • i10
  • i15
  • i20

Switchweld Navigator™

The Switchweld Navigator is a turn-key cobot-based metal working solution designed for users with minimal cobot welding experience. Switchweld Navigator makes the robotic welding process simple, quick, and safe through a unique end effector puck that enables precise robot positioning without using a teach pendant. Switchweld Navigator is universally compatible with all popular welding power sources and supports easy swap out for all standard welding attachments. The key features of Switchweld Navigator are:

  • Simple operation
  • Precision torch tip adjustment
  • Friendly user interface
  • Easy setup

Why Choose Our Collaborative Robots and Accessories

Safety

Collaborative robots are designed to minimize the risks of accidents and injuries in the workplace.  Collaborative robots are equipped with sensors to avoid collisions, overall force limitations, and smooth designs. Improved safety and less human accidents, boosts productivity and reduces operating cost for the end user.

Flexibility

Collaborative robots can be easily programmed, even by inexperienced users, as most of the programming is taught by moving the robot arm. This allows for collaborative robots to be deployed across multiple tasks at the same facility with quick changeover times.

Low Cost Deployment

The time and cost of deploying a collaborative robot are minimal due to the ease of programming and no additional safety requirements that are standard for an industrial robot.

Fast and Safe ROI

Collaborative robots offer the lowest upfront costs of any robotics solution, the quickest and easiest deployment, and the most flexibility for use in multiple applications across the worksite. In terms of robotics investments, collaborative robots offer the lowest risk and an ROI that can be months, not years.
