Small Businesses Helping Small Businesses
One of the partnerships we are most proud of at EFP Industrial Automation is the one we’ve formed with Rayo de Sol.
Rayo de Sol is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in and around Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Rayo de Sol is providing a holistic solution to meet the community’s spiritual, physical, and economic needs through the development of programs in discipleship, education, health and nutrition, and community development.
In addition to giving back locally, we want EFP to have a global impact as well. Together with Rayo de Sol, we’re helping to better equip families in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.
On average, the adults we work with in Matagalpa have received about 5 years of formal education with little practical job training. Through Rayo de Sol, EFP is providing Nicaraguans with small loans designed to help them establish businesses that serve both their families and their communities.
“We want our business to serve as a blessing,” said EFP President Mike Brooks. “Partnering with Rayo de Sol, we’re able to equip these families with the resources they need to establish themselves, creating opportunities for their children and their community.”
With these loans, small business owners receive the start-up capital they need while still retaining ownership of their own business. It’s a way to come alongside families, providing for the short-term, while also equipping them for the future.
In many cases, the business owners and their children are learning trades that can be shared for generations to come.
